This is the real shit. Not only are we dealing with our own personal evolutions but we are faced with the weight of an increasingly ugly and painful world. There aren’t any other eloquent words to describe it, it’s all heavy.
I’m usually all for walking into the shadows, facing the fear, feeling the flames, doing the work and showing up.
But right now, I think we all need to l i g h t e n u p. And I know there is seriously painful and wrong stuff going on. I know it’s painful and terrible and I know we are all feeling sorts of things.
And I’m not saying not to speak up or stay complacent or not to follow the urging of your heart if it’s calling to you to right now.
But right now there are a lot of elevated, fearful, stressed our nervous systems walking around.
And these nervous systems are interacting with other nervous nervous systems, and we are all either feeling the effects of all this fear within ourselves or we feel it everywhere we go.
Fear breeds more fear.
Anger breeds more anger.
But love also breeds more love.
And joy breeds more joy.
And so right now, we are being asked to remember what it means to be a light in the dark.
Because in a dualistic world, there is bound to be good and bad, but the heart of humanity is good … and right now in this fight there is a lot of fear and faith.
And a key piece of this fight is knowing when you need to resource for yourself to STAY IN FAITH.
That’s what this moon is all about.
Because yes Leo is brave, courageous, proactive, takes initiative with a warrior roar urges our fiery hearts into action. But - pair that with the throes of being in a lunar eclipse which reveals shadows, a deeper current of whats been kept suppressed, there’s a lot of energy that could go either way.
Eclipses either allow a light to be shown or a shadow to be cast and this play of light we have the opportunity to c h o o s e from on this moon.
So choose and consider this:
“Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated.” - Terry Tempest Williams
There is no doubt about it, the world needs deep healing.
There is no doubt that it will take courage and action and standing up to injustice. But there is also no doubt in the human sprit or what it needs to thrive.
Joy and beauty are their own forms of nourishment. Whether it’s found in a moon ray, a child’s smile or a small but profound measure of kindness, this moon asks you to remember the light and to go out and play.
This moon is here to tell you, yes, these are serious times, but we can choose what to do with it.
We’ll be in the clutches of this shadow until the next eclipse, so in between now and then choose nourishment. Spend some time in pursuit of what you love, with people you love, in the places you love.
This moon says.
rest here.
take a drink.
get some sleep.
go out and play.
remember that joy is vital to the fight.
There’s no doubt that a new collective narrative is being written right now. Stories are being woven inside of us as individuals, society and souls.
In the narrative of your story, don’t forget that feeling the light is just as important as seeing it.
